Attending Daily Online Jewish Services has never been easier. Thanks to modern video conferencing tools, anyone with an internet connection can join a live Jewish prayer service from the comfort of their home, their office, or anywhere in the world.
At Sim Shalom Online Synagogue, we offer Daily Online Services Monday through Friday, plus a special Shabbat service on Friday evenings. Here is everything you need to know to join us.
When Are Sim Shalom’s Daily Online Services?
Our Daily Online Services follow a consistent weekly schedule so you can plan around them:
- Monday through Thursday: Maariv (Evening Service) at 7:00 PM Eastern Time
- Friday Night Shabbat: Kabbalat Shabbat (Welcoming the Sabbath) at 6:30 PM Eastern Time
Services are typically 30–45 minutes and include prayers, singing, Torah reflection, and community conversation. All are welcome—Jewish by birth, Jewish by choice, interfaith families, and those who are simply curious about Judaism.
How to Join Our Daily Online Services
You can watch and participate in our Daily Online Services through three platforms—whichever is most convenient for you:
- Zoom (Interactive) — Join live via Zoom to sing along, chat, and interact directly with the Rabbi and community. Zoom Meeting ID: 966 153 17504 (weekday services). Friday night Shabbat: Meeting ID 873 4315 1896, Passcode 973526.
- YouTube (Watch Live or On Demand) — Our services are streamed live on the Sim Shalom YouTube channel. You can also watch past services any time.
- Facebook Live — Follow Sim Shalom on Facebook to watch services streamed live there as well.
What Happens During a Jewish Online Service?
If you have never attended a Jewish prayer service before, here is what to expect at Sim Shalom’s Daily Online Services:
- Opening prayers — We begin with traditional Hebrew prayers, sung in a melody that is both accessible and spiritually meaningful.
- Torah reflection — Rabbi Blane or one of our guest rabbis shares a brief teaching connected to the weekly Torah portion or the Jewish calendar.
- Community moment — We welcome new participants, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and observe Yahrtzeit (memorial prayers for the departed).
- Kaddish — The traditional memorial prayer is recited together for those who are mourning or honoring a loved one’s memory.
- Closing blessings — We end with warmth and community connection.
Do I Need a Prayer Book?
Sim Shalom offers free online Siddurim (prayer books) on our website, created by our own rabbis. You can follow along on screen during Daily Online Services without needing to purchase anything. Just navigate to our Online Services page before the service begins and the prayer book links will be there for you.
Is There a Cost to Attend?
Our Daily Online Services are completely free and open to everyone. Sim Shalom is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that runs entirely on donations from our community. If you find our services meaningful, we gratefully welcome your support—but there is never a fee to pray with us.
